SUPPORT FOR KIDS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER AND THEIR FAMILIES

Take part in the wonderful project that helps the kids to live with their cancer diagnostic, to overcome the hard therapies and to reach their dreams and goals

The project

This foundation open their doors on 2004, with the goal to transform the life of the kids diagnosed with cancer and build a more sensitive, respectful and conscious society. 

They have projects in five areas: research, education, emotional health, sports and recreation.

Year round, some usual activities are: computer classes, robotic classes, entrepreneurship workshops for the moms or other family members. During the kids vacations they work on a summer camp and prepare a theater play with them.

 At the office there is also planning work at the office, activities´coordination, fundraising, and support to the research projects.

Location details

The project location is in Quito Accommodation is with a local host family and it includes 2 meals per day: breakfast and dinner

 

Requirements

Spanish level: Basic user A2. Must be 18 and over, with valid passport and health insurance

Itinerary Sample

Monday to Thursday:
9:00 to 18:00 work at the office (with an hour for lunch 13:00- 14:00).

Friday:                                                                                                                      08:00 to 14:00 work at the office

Saturdays:                                                                                                                 08:00 to 14:00 recreational activities with the kids

DURING SUMMER CAMP

Monday to Friday:                                                                                                            09:00 to 12:30 Work with the kids at the camp activities                                                                                    

 

Role of the volunteer

Work at the office planning and coordinating activities for the weekends. Help in fundraising, looking for donations and/or create new financing methods. Assist in the research projects.

Coordinate recreational activities for the kids, assist in the permanent classes and workshops. Also be emotional and professional support for the families, teaching them useful topics, so they can entrepreneur and afford the medical costs.

Skills required

No experience is required in the medical field. Applicants should have enterprising spirit, flexible personality, caring, dynamic, and responsible.
