The project

The school is participating in an expanding education and citizen action movement in the city. Teachers and volunteers are sharing a curriculum that focuses on sustainable farming and lifestyles, conservation, and recycling with the hope that the next generation will bring the knowledge home and to their communities. Relevant education in these rural communities is key to adoption of new organic and sustainable farming principles.

The school is located just down the road from the main farm and is used by the local communities as elementary, middle, and high school, as well as having evening classes. There are approximately 35 students. Some of the teachers live at the farm, as the commute is much easier.
