This project works local artisans specialized with working with Totora (a local plant). Their products include baskets, ornaments, furniture, exclusive designs, and recycled paper. Their main objectives are to help entrepreneurial aspirations of ingenious communities to more effectively produce and sell their products. They help these artisans enter into bigger markets that they would otherwise struggle to enter. The organization teaches them techniques and skills like marketing, effective production methods, English, and how to sell their products.

The project location is in the Andes, Northern Ecuador. Accomodation in Otavalo with a local host family and it includes 2 meals per day: breakfast and dinner
Spanish level: Independent user B2. Must be 18 and over, with valid passport and health insurance

14:00 to 18:00 continue with the presentation of artisans.
Tuesdays to Thursdays
9:00 to 12:00 Talk about Business enterprise and Quality Management System

13:00 to 17:00 Learn about the processing of the material.

Role of the volunteer
Help these artisans with activities including, meeting all national and international customers through all the written and electronic media, designing labels and packaging suitable for orderly marketing, carrying out a training plan in the area of basic customer in English civil servants and artisans, and making new contacts to offer all the products. Willingness to work in rural areas and intermediate Spanish is required.
Skills requiredNo special experience is required. However, the number one qualification is the willingness to learn and help.
