PROMOTION AND DEFENSE OF HUMAN AND NATURE RIGHTS

Promote and defend rights in 3 main work areas: human and nature rights defenders; nationalities and territory; serious human rights violations

The project

Created on 1993, the foundation is a human rights institution, non-governmental, non-partisan and non-religious which promotes and demands the respect and guarantee of human and nature rights, through the accompaniment of people and organizations. 

Legal department: works in the design and implementation of political and judicial advocacy strategies for the effective respect and guarantee of human rights in Ecuador. Through the use of the national and international justice system, cases are assumed for legal sponsorship, in which, with a direct intervention of our team of lawyers, a resolution is sought that fully repairs damage and forces the State to take measures to Do not repeat the facts.

Communication:  works on the promotion and broadcasting of human and nature rights, generating debate and public advocacy. This area create content (videos, texts, photography) and manage the social media, web page, conduct radio- TV online channel to make visibility campaigns of serious human rights violations. 

Strengthening: works on training, organizational-financial strengthening; emerging support to grassroots organizations  and to human rights and nature defenders.

Dates/Length

Project available year-round. 

Minimum length of stay: 8 weeks, no maximum.

Location details

The project location is in Quito. Accommodation in Quito is with a local host family and it includes 2 meals per day: breakfast and dinner

Spanish level: A2. Must be 18 and over, with valid passport and health insurance

Role of the participant

Assist the professionals in the areas they need. This foundation work with different subjects, places and instances all the time, so you will need to check them (with the support and guidance of the professionals) and be prepared to help in the area they need you.

 

 

Skills required

Applicants should be open, flexible, patient, caring passionate, creative and come with a spirit of collaboration and solidarity. Capacity of working under pressure. The number one qualification is the willingness to learn and help.
